Pluss Polymers (now renamed Pluss Advanced Technologies Pvt. Ltd.), which specializes in research, development and manufacturing of specialty polymers and phase-change materials (PCMs), won a Cold Chain Industry Award 2015 presented at the 4th Cold Chain Strategy Summit by Future
Supply Chain. Its innovative application of PCMs in freezers and coolers won under the category Cold Chain Initiative/ Innovation of the Year. The summit was held on June 9 at Westin, Mumbai. Over 8000 freezers and coolers integrated with savE® PCMs have been commercially launched through various OEMs and are successfully operating across India since 2013.

The features of these products are:

• The weight of PCM required is lesser by 50% compared to conventional glycol based eutectics for the same performance. 
• The temperature maintained by PCM is constant, unlike in the conventional solution where it keeps increasing.
• PCM offers guarantee of consistent performance over a minimum of 3000 cycles.
• Over 60% energy cost saving from elimination of diesel generators.
• Reduction in the compressor cut-in/cut-out frequency by 50%.
