The Harris Products Group is working with SAFE Refrigerations P Limited (SafeRef ) to manufacture its brazing rings in India, making them more accessible to the country’s original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Harris will ship the alloy from its plant in Mason, Ohio, USA to SAFE in India. SafeRef will manufacture brazing rings to meet the size and shape specifications of its customers. David J. Nangle, president of The Harris Products Group, said they are pleased to be a part of the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
SAFE’s Group employs about 150 employees in three manufacturing facilities located in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The company’s production processes comply with ISO 9001. The company has sales offices in Mumbai, New Delhi, Ahmedabad and Kolkata. SafeRef offers a full portfolio of alloy products from Harris, including Harris 0 (zero) and other phoscopper alloys as filler metals or formed rings. In addition, SafeRef will be introducing two new product lines from Harris – flux-cored high silver alloys and ALUXCOR™, flux-cored aluminum brazing alloys and rings. Flux-cored high silver is used in high production brazing applications for dissimilar metals in the manufacture of appliances, compressors and other equipment. The rings are a natural extension of SafeRef’s product line. Harris guarantees a liquidus temperature variation of no more than ±3.3°C/±6°F, which is a tighter standard than the industry.
