Refrigerant Research Conference Reveals Detailed Look at Low-GWP Options
16 May 2016

More than 170 leading refrigerant researchers, refrigerant producers and manufacturers came together on January 21 to review the results of Phase II of AHRI’s Low-Global Warming Potential (GWP) Alternative Refrigerants Evaluation Program (AREP). This phase of the program focused on alternative refrigerants that were not initially evaluated when the program began in 2011. It included applications at highambient conditions and testing of 17 new low-GWP refrigerant candidates. Attendees at the sold-out conference traveled from all over the world, including Europe, China, Japan, and the Middle East, to learn the results from 20 presenters. The Low-GWP AREP was established to evaluate promising alternative refrigerants for major product categories, including air conditioners, heat pumps, chillers, ice makers and refrigeration equipment. All research reports are available at http://www.ahrinet.org/AREP (Source: AHRI Update, January 28, 2016)
