Pre-programmed Controls for Variable Primary Chiller Plants from Armstrong Fluid Technology
20 August 2014

It is imperative that any automation solution chosen for an HVAC chiller plant should offer a wide range of control capabilities to enable optimize system effi ciency and eliminate unnecessary costs along with addressing key issues of commissioning costs, future flexibility to re-configure, and reliability. It must respond to key variables like local climate conditions, component integration, serial communications compatibility, adaptation to existing equipment and operating modes for sensor failure

Armstrong Fluid Technology has launched pre-programmed plant automation system controls for air cooled and water cooled variable primary chiller plants. The Armstrong IPC 9511 and IPC 9521 plant automation controls sequence the air cooled and water cooled chillers respectively, optimize pump operation, provide energy savings, and prolong equipment life while maintaining occupant comfort and process control. The plant automation control solution can be integrated with the reporting and remote read-write capabilities of any building management system. It includes the latest Armstrong technologies such as Multi Parallel pumping with sensorless technology. Since the sensorless technology is installed on the panel (not on the pump), any system – even systems including sensors – can profit from this control method.
