Johnson Controls has enhanced its portfolio of commercial and residential HVAC/R products in India with the launch of its magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller line, the YORK® YMC2 with a cooling capacity range of 165-1,000 TR (580-3,500 kW). The 8-foot chillers are also available for retrofits.
The chiller uses magnetic levitation technology to rotate without friction for quieter and more efficient operation. It has a standard variable speed drive for higher part load efficiency. The other benefits are:
• Low entering condenser water temperature to reduce energy usage: up to 0.175 kW/ton at full capacity and below 0.1 kW/ton at part load.
• Fewer moving parts mean less servicing and a longer motor life, while eliminating the need for a lubrication system.
• Sound levels up to 70 dBA.
• Permanent magnet motor.
• Quick start feature.
• Heat pump capability – simultaneous heating and cooling with two units in cascade.
