Ingersoll Rand Issues Update on its Global Climate Commitment
21 June 2016

Ingersoll Rand (IR), a global player in creating comfortable, sustainable and efficient environments, has announced key milestones towards its climate commitment to the Clinton Global Initiative. So far, the company’s climate commitment has resulted in the avoidance of approximately 2 million metric tons of CO2e globally. Announced in September 2014, the IR climate commitment pledged to significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from its products and operations by 2030. This includes reducing refrigerant related emissions from its products by 50%, reducing its GHG footprint for operations by 35%, and contributing to the avoidance of 20 million metric tons of CO2e by 2020. IR’s initiatives include the launch of the EcoWise™ portfolio that endorses company products that use low GWP refrigerant and have a high efficiency operation. IR added four new products to its portfolio: Thermo King truck and trailer refrigeration units; Trane Sintesis™, an air cooled chiller; Trane Series E™ CenTraVac™ centrifugal chillers in Europe, the Middle East, Japan and other 50 Hz markets; and a Trane Aquatrine™ demonstration unit, a small aircooled chiller using DR-55 as an alternative to
R-410A. Further details are available on http://company.ingersollrand.com/ircorp/en/index.html
