Ice Make Offers Solar Cold Room with TES Technology
13 July 2018

Ice Make Refrigeration Ltd. is now offering solar powered stand-alone cold rooms – a suitable solution for operating small cold storage systems in rural areas without assured power. This Solar Cold Room runs on solar energy that is eco-friendly as well as cost saving. It also uses Thermal Energy Storage (TES) technology, incorporating a Phase Change Material (PCM) for storing energy to give a backup for 24 hours under conditions of no door opening. It needs no battery backup, and can deliver uniform cooling even under fluctuating conditions of solar light. The solar cold room is available with storage capacity of 4 to 5 Metric Ton. It is designed to store products like fruits and vegetables, flowers, pharma and dairy items within the storage temperature range of 2°C to 10°C. When using solar energy, there is no running cost. The solar cold room is hybrid type, designed for use throughout the year. Even when there is no sunlight, it can be run using an alternate power source – electric power and/or diesel generator. It is portable and can be easily shifted.
