Haier India Inaugurates Industrial Park in Pune

Haier India inaugurated its industrial park at Ranjangaon, Pune on November 16. The industrial park, an expansion of Haier’s existing factory, will generate 2,000 new direct jobs along with 10,000 indirect employment opportunities. The event was presided over by Devendra Fadnavis – Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Liang Haishan – Executive President of Haier Group, Song Yujun – Managing Director, Haier Appliances India and Eric Braganza – President, Haier Appliances India. Other dignitaries such as Zheng Xiyuan – Chinese Consul-General in Mumbai, Li Baijun – Economic and Commercial Consular of Chinese Embassy in India and Wang Shicai, Commercial Consular at the Consulate General of China in Mumbai, were also present at the event. Haier is a global leader in home appliances and consumer electronics, rated as World’s Number 1 brand in major appliances for the 8th consecutive year by Euromonitor U.K. Haier India has invested a total of Rs. 6,000 crore towards the expansion of its manufacturing facility. This will more than double Haier’s production capacity of refrigerators to 1.8 million units and enable it to commence production of new categories like air conditioners, LED televisions, washing machines and water heaters. The industrial park will enable the brand to manufacture 3.8 million units of these products in all, increasing domestic production by 322%.
