Godrej Appliances has rolled out its green range of air conditioners in Maldives as part of a joint initiative by the United Nations and the company to promote energy efficient
and green products across the globe. The company is targeting $ one million sales from Maldives by the fiscal end. The company said Maldives has already implemented several green initiatives and aims to be carbon neutral and CFC-free by 2020. In 2012, the company, in collaboration with the German Federal Ministry, introduced the R290 refrigerant in India in air conditioners with the launch of its green range of ACs. R290 is the world’s greenest refrigerant with zero ozone depletion potential and much lower global warming potential.
