The ownership of Europe’s leading manufacturer of alternator driven transport refrigeration units, Frigoblock, has been acquired by Thermo King.
Since the 1970s, Frigoblock has pioneered the alternator driven refrigeration units for trucks and trailers. The alternator is driven by the engine of the vehicle, a rigid truck or mechanical horse and provides the AC power for the compressor and fan motors. The company has its manufacturing plant outside Essen in Germany and produces in excess of 2,500 units annually. Frigoblock’s alternator technology, quality of product and expertise in their field is highly regarded across Europe. (Source: The Cold Link, March - April 2015)
