Chillventa 2014 was held in Nuremberg, Germany from October 14 to 16. The exhibition was spread over seven sprawling halls with almost 1000 exhibitors. The number of trade visitors registered this year topped 30,000 from over 110 countries. According to the organizers, this is a substantial increase over the 2012 numbers. It is significant that 56% of the visitors and 67% of the exhibitors were from outside Germany, making this a truly international event. Some of the noted exhibitors were Bitzer, Carel, Danfoss, Daikin, Dupont, Emerson, GEA, Howden, Honeywell and Refcomp Snowkey. Interestingly, most of the exhibitors focused on alternate refrigerants and products suitable for them. Chillventa Congressing, a seminar, took place on October 13, a day before the exhibition. The 250 international participants were offered top-class programmes on Heat Pumps, ASERCOM + EPEE Symposium, Energy of the Future, etc. Special presentations on energy inspection of air conditioning and ventilation systems, heat pumps for commercial and industrial use, energy-efficient computing centres, sustainable solutions for air conditioning, etc. Were conducted simultaneously and these were a hit with the participants. Overall, Chillventa 2014 was successful in delivering on its tagline: ‘Connecting Experts’ from the HVAC & R fraternity.
