Green Building Initiative (GBI), provider of the Green Globes rating system, has given ASHRAE’s international headquarters in Atlanta its highest rating, four Green Globes. Sustainable measures include Energy Star benchmarking for energy and water consumption; energy audits through ASHRAE’s Building Energy Quotient (bEQ) system; quarterly inspection and maintenance of systems containing ODS; water audits for leaks and regular monitoring of recycling efforts and waste reduction and diversion rate. Only 3% of projects assessed by GBI achieve four Globes certification.
