ACREX Hall of Fame, a joint initiative by ISHRAE and Danfoss India to recognise excellence in HVAC&R achieved by India’s commercial buildings towards conserving energy, is in its fourth edition this year. Energy Efficiency Drive 2019 aims to promote the incorporation of sustainable and energy efficient technologies in India. This edition, which is specifically focusing on the Hospital and Hotel industries, was flagged off at ITC Maratha in Mumbai on August 8, with nominees showcasing their commitment towards building a sustainable future. Mumbai has been repeatedly recognised for creating benchmarks in India’s commercial building industry. The first inductee to the ACREX

Hall of Fame in 2016 was the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Terminal 2, Mumbai followed by the Infosys EC-53 (M&C Building), Bangalore in 2017. Reliance Corporate IT Park – Building 22, Navi Mumbai was inducted into the ACREX Hall of Fame in 2018 during the event that took place in Bangalore earlier this year. This year, the coveted recognition seeks to identify excellence in India’s hospitals and hotels, seeking iconic benchmarks that inspire and encourage innovation in technology, design and systems to achieve the highest standards of energy efficient HVAC systems. The inaugural event of ACREX Energy Efficiency Drive for ACREX 2018 was addressed by Sangita Jhangiani, President, ISHRAE Mumbai Chapter; C. Subramaniam, National President, ISHRAE; Vikram Murthy, National President-elect, ISHRAE; and Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India.

Before the presentations made by competing buildings, Rakesh Bhatia, Senior VP – Ecofirst, made a presentation on Remaking of Bombay House. Among the competing buildings, Sharad Garud made a presentation on Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre, Girgaon, Mumbai. Another presentation was made by Shailesh Pathak (Albus Engineering Consultants) on Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital, Pune. The last presentation was by Pritam Shetty (Blue Star) on JW Marriott, Sahar, Mumbai.
Every year, nominations for the ACREX Hall of Fame are invited from various states and cities across India.
