This programme brings you some of the best professionals in the world to share their knowledge in the subject. Two Distinguished Lecturers from ASHRAE: Dr.Vijayakumar & Mr Wei Sun will deliver the following lectures:

• Introduction to Particle Mechanics
• Fundamentals of High Efficiency Air Filters - Theory & Practice
• Cleanrooms and HVAC Systems Design Fundamentals
• Design Practices of Pressurization Systems – Technologies in Suite Pressure Control & Performance Modelling

Dr Vijayakumar is the President of IEST. He has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering specializing in Particle Technology from the University of Minnesota, and has over 25 years’ experience. He has held
senior technical and marketing positions in leading filter, filter media, and particle instrumentation companies, where he has assisted customers around the world with their filtration and particle measurement problems. He lectures worldwide on various aspects of filtration and contamination control.

Mr Wei Sun is the Chairman of ASHRAE Technical Committee TC9.11 (Clean Spaces), where he served as the Principal Author of the ASHRAE Handbook “Clean Spaces” 2007 Edition. He is a member
of ASHRAE Technical Committees TC9.10 (Laboratory Systems) and TC9.6 (Healthcare Facilities). He is also a member of IEST, ASHE and NFPA organizations. In other leadership roles, he serves as
a CTTC Regional Vice Chair for ASHRAE Region V (Ohio, Indiana and Michigan), and the President-Elect of ASHRAE Detroit Chapter.

In addition, we will have lectures from eminent professionals in the field of filters, validation, air-handling units, BMS and controls related to cleanrooms.

ISHRAE’s National Convention - ACRESERVE 2010

Goa chapter to conduct Workshop on "Air-conditioning for Clean Rooms - Part I" on 16th July

Goa Chapter announces a full-day Workshop on "Air-conditioning for Clean Rooms - Part I" to be held at Hotel Goa Marriott, Miramar, Panaji, Goa, Goa on July 16th, 2010 from 9 am to 5 pm. The workshop is the first of 4-Module Workshop on Clean Rooms. The remaining three modules will be scheduled subsequently.

This workshop has been envisaged to upgrade the knowledge and skills of the local technical fraternity. Mr. B Gautam Baliga, an ISHRAE distinguished lecturer (DL) and Past President - ISHRAE Mumbai will conduct the Workshop.

AcreServe India 2010 in Mumbai on 13 -14 August

Mumbai chapter has announced that AcreServe 2010 would be conducted on 13 & 14 August in Mumbai. AcreServe - a program dedicated to Service personnel working in the HVAC industry was first held in 2009 in Bangalore where over 500 participated. AcreServe was then held in Hyderabad in late February, which too was a success. And now, AcreServe is being organized for the first time in Western India.

The two days’ seminar will cover topics related to best practices that are required to be implemented to bridge the gap between design and service, challenges in operation and maintenance, measurement and validation, servicing and troubleshooting etc . The sessions will be conducted by prominent faculty members of the HVAC&R service industry.

To enhance knowledge and growth opportunity in the HVAC&R industry for the installation, operating, maintenance and service personnel and to recognize them, a Certification Program is being organized by ISHRAE. Certificates will be awarded under Level 1 and Level 2 categories after attaining required technical knowledge after passing the test conducted by ISHRAE. The ISHRAE certification will enhance career growth opportunities and also ensures high standards of installation and service in the HVAC&R industry.
