ACREX India 2010 - a grand success!

17-20 February, 2010 , Hall 1, 2 & 5, Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (East), Mumbai, INDIA

Mumbai, the financial capital of India, hosted the 11th edition of ACREX, the international exhibition on Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Building Services at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, February 17-20, 2010. Organised by ISHRAE (Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers), the event was endorsed by ASHRAE of the US for the first time with an active contribution to technical workshops, seminars and overall promotion.

ACREX 2010 witnessed participation from 330 exhibitors, 70 of which were International. The concurrent Seminar & Product Presentations had 39 presenters. Technical Workshops, which were held from 15-18 February, were conducted by some of the most respected trainers from ASHRAE and ISHRAE, and recorded an attendance of almost 1400 delegates from India and overseas.

The ISHRAE Awards for Excellence held on 19 February recognised exhibiting companies for specific categories such as Energy Efficiency, Indoor Air Quality, Innovation, and Green & Sustainable.

A 32-page Official Show Guide for Acrex 2010 was published in the ASHRAE Journal of February 2010, which was widely circulated to its 55,000 members worldwide. The same Show Guide was also published in ISHRAE’s Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Journal, which is circulated to over 10,000 members and student members in India.

The highlights of the exhibition were: • 330 exhibitors, 25% of them international • A dedicated pavilion for 37 exhibitors from China • Over 15,000 visitors and delegates attended the event • Exhibitors showcased products that conform to the Energy Conservation Code of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency • The Indian Green Building Council and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency were both supporting agencies that influence the development of the industry and its products. • Nine Distinguished Lecturers from ASHRAE conducted technical workshops and lectures on selected subjects. • With substantial overseas participation, ACREX promotes India as a prime market for quality products • A concurrent Architects and Developers forum for discussion was held to promote close cooperation with exhibitors and their systems to encourage building towards a sustainable future. • An all-India engineering students’ quiz with participation by ISHRAE’s 70 odd Student chapters across the country to highlight the encouraging careers available in the HVAC&R industry.
